Self DefenceSelf-Defence needs to be practical and effective, combining physical and mental skills that enhance awareness and the ability to diffuse potentially challenging situations. Each person needs to develop skills that work for them and are effective when under pressure. Complex techniques are difficult to do when under high levels of stress so we focus on traditional training methods that combine innovations in combat training and work on the street.
For children the focus is on improving awareness and personal safety. Children learn how to deal with bullies by becoming assertive and confident within themselves. A confident child who respects others and has been trained to look after themselves is less likely to become a target of bullies. Quintin has this to say about his experience in teaching children. "Our programmes have helped hundreds of children deal with bullying and peer pressure without engaging in violence. Children that stand tall and have compassion establish great skills and values for life. I appreciate the changing face of bullying today, children need real mental and physical skills that strengthen their emotions. Learning to fight and understanding the art of war so we don't have to fight is extremely important." Specialised courses are available and run throughout the year in:
