Module 3
Kempo & Ba Gua
Within this module we will focus on core principles and training methods to help you build power and structure within the body. When we learn a Martial Art, we progressively integrate whole mind/body interaction. Before we start applying Gung Fu to our movements we often don't have much purpose as we focus on simply trying to perform set positions. As we progress, connections between mind and body are made which help build power and structure throughout our whole being. Co-ordination develops and we become strong, supple and able to store and release power with less strain and tension. Beginners and experienced practitioners will benefit from this module as I will be including Ba Gua techniques such as the Turning Palms Form which helps develop wonderful footwork to get you into strong positions for self-defence and combat. This form contains key postures for creating abundant energy and lays the foundations for applying Ba Gua as a powerful applied meditation and stress release tool. We will also be looking at Kempo Body Mechanics for striking and kicking techniques to add power, speed, accuracy and efficiency in your training and applications. |
